THOUGHTS #11 - WOMEN IN AMERICA

I saw an interview earlier on CBSN with a millenial who had written a piece on why millenial women don't seem to be all that excited about Hillary Clinton. The historic nature of her candidacy, her nomination, and the potential at least of her presidency, and still...

She said that one of the reasons she felt is that Bernie Sanders had stolen a lot of her thunder...but also young women today don't seem to grasp the contributions to womens rights and the advances achieved by their mothers and grandmothers AND Hillary Clinton.

Have we so easily forgotten what it took? How hard the women of the 1920's and 1930's and since fought? Evidently. Doesn't say much for the sense of history that our young American women have today.

Look back to the Suffragette movement. Much like the Civil Rights movement, women fought and fought hard, only now for their children, grandchildren, and successors to be oblivious to that hard fought battle.

Shame.

Oh how quickly they forget.
