America has become more than a little unstable when it comes to stability and consistency. One of the big problems in America today is that Americans want instant solutions to solve all of their problems. We expect our government to provide calm and answers while at the same time we want our government to either go away entirely or at the very
Rugged individualism as a form of societal norm doesn't really work very well if you want your government to address all of your concerns and solve all of your problems
If we the people are mostly inconsistent in our demands of our government and our elected officials, how can we then expect any more or less from those same elected officials, who already are pretty consistent in being both inconsistent (pandering to the base rather than standing on principles) and faithful to American ideals.
Are we losing sight of those ideals? Are we losing sight of our goals as a society? Are we becoming so used to feeling personally entitled rather than having concern for the American common good that we no longer know how to provide our own solutions where we can, look to government to do for us what we can't do for ourselves, and to know the difference?
Time will tell, but how much of that do we really have? Both unrest and climate/topographical demands
PART II:
Whatever happened to the ideals, principles, and values of our founders? These were not perfect individuals by any stretch of the imagination, BUT
Personal freedom was at the core of all that was done back in the 1700's. Our ancestors, (those of us who have called this country home for generations, like my family has)
Are we still principled people? Or do we just live day to day or year to year in ways to get by without much of anything really meaning much? Without DOING? Without participating in the mechanisms that have gotten us this far and need to continue to avoid the fate that so many other great civilizations have suffered?
Or some combination of in-between?
Do we TRULY THINK about the future of not only ourselves but our COUNTRY? The place where our children and grandchildren will inherit and have to
What WILL America BE IN THE FUTURE? 2050, 2075, or 2100AD?
Your guess is as good as
What happens when ALL of our social safety net is gone at Republican hands? No more Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans benefits, health care for ALL? What about our crumbling infrastructure? Roads, bridges, the
WHO DO WE LOVE? Our family? But what are YOU doing to protect their future? Money? But you can't take it with you and are you teaching the children you create the VALUE of money, and LIFE? HUMAN LIFE? Are you setting the example that kids need to understand the principle of LOVE, rather than the mean-spirited evil role modeling I see many being preached?
What is more important? Wildlife in its untainted natural habitat or the wild life you can find in any number of bars every night of the week?
Both are part of American society, but which is more important?
THE FUTURE IS OURS TO CREATE JUST AS THE PRESENT IS. What will America's be like?
November 2016 will be another step up or down, forward or backward. It all depends on US. YOU AND ME.
Which will YOU choose?
We will either care about each other or not. We will care about our country or not. Our planet or not.
I see where there are plans to colonize Mars. The first outer space American suburb? Good God.
