THIS IS WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE MOST POPULAR OF SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS.
Don't get me wrong.
I am on and heavily invested in being on social media and I DO think the concept is a good one. But I also think that while the concept is good, the implementation of it the way that Twitter and Facebook have done it is bad. You don't have to be on any of these sites very long before you get confronted with just how controlling and manipulative the people who run these sites (take Mark Z for example) are. I don't happen to think it matters a whit if you know people offline or not to meet them online.
ALL OF THESE SITES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE
SOCIAL MEDIA, Duh.
Why do they impose RIDICULOUS rules and regulations (and lots of them) which seem to be strictly designed just to exert control rather than encourage people interacting WHICH IS AFTER ALL THE WHOLE POINT.

IF THERE IS ONE THING I HATE IT IS CENSORSHIP.
My family came to America before it WAS America, in 1597, to escape tyranny by the British in our native Scotland and Ireland. It has been a hallmark of our family ever since. LIVE FREE OR DIE, is the motto of the State of New Hampshire and was coined by my ancestor...Brigadier General John Stark of Londonderry New Hampshire. We have ALWAYS hated censorship, and loved the idea that as long as you are not coercing anyone you should be able to live your life FREE, and do what you want with whomever you want.
Live your dream. Love whomever you want.
Live wherever you want. Be all that you can be.
Live to dream, dream to live...better.

LIVE NOT ONLY THE AMERICAN DREAM,
BUT THE HUMAN BEING ONE TOO.
BUT THE HUMAN BEING ONE TOO.
While I am not in favor of sites allowing pornography and extremely graphic nudity/sexual acts, and vulgar language, where children can log in and visit...I AM for allowing sites being able to have a section if they so choose that is inaccessible to anyone underage where that sort of thing can be available...FOR CONSENTING ADULTS, OR do what I do...allow for a link to my blogs where there is more graphic content. And make that either inaccessible to kids or at least post disclaimers that the site has adult content.
My adage. If you don't like gay marriage,
DON'T MARRY ONE.
DON'T MARRY ONE.
If you don't like a particular television show, DON'T FUCKING WATCH.
People have gotten so lazy they can't push a button on the remote? Instead they want to impose THEIR social or otherwise mores on the rest of society? I DO NOT THINK SO.
TOO MUCH of that has already been allowed.
When a society loses its sense of fairness and equality for ALL of its citizens, and ALL of the variant viewpoints that come with such diversity, then you are on the verge of becoming a totalitarian state...and we already have too much coercion and manipulative dictators as it is.
ONE Adolph Hitler or Idi Amin or Bashir Assad is enough
for a series of lifetimes...thank you very much.
